In her third solo exhibition, ‘Mewġa,’ which is the Maltese word for ‘wave,’ Rebecca Cassar explores her fascination with the sea and its surrounding landscape. Stylistically, she uses her abstract style, which mainly comprises bold colours, textures, and 23.5 karat gold leaf.

Her works represent both the beauty and vulnerability of the coastal landscape and how, through our actions, we have the power to protect and, unfortunately, destroy this delicate ecosystem. This exhibition comprises over 20 works, which are essentially an ode to her youth and days spent at sea with her family.
